Because of the push towards a more uniform counselor identity, the authors examined the similarities and differences of pre-licensure requirements and counselor supervisor requirements in all 50 states and Washington, D. C. The authors present the findings as well as discuss the challenges regarding inconsistencies across the United States concerning professional counselor and supervisor requirements.
