This article describes results of interviews conducted with nine prominent leaders in counselor education regarding their opinions about positive psychology research. Counselor education leaders provided in-depth responses to a series of questions about positive psychology and its potential relevance in the training of master’s level counselors. The responses indicate that positive psychology is considered a significant new trend worthy of careful attention by counselor educators. Long-term pedagogical and philosophical implications for counselor education are discussed, as well as recommendations for further research.
