Counseling Transgender, Nonbinary, and Gender Expansive Youth

When counseling transgender, nonbinary, or gender expansive (TGE) youth, counselors must understand the diverse ways in which clients might experience their gender identity and expression, recognize the impact of systemic and legislative contexts on client access to care, and ground care in cultural responsiveness, liberation frameworks, and community-building models.
