ACA Code of Ethics

The ACA Code of Ethics Revision Task Force invites stakeholders to offer public comments on the draft 2026 ACA Code of Ethics. Below are instructions regarding the type of feedback requested and and how to access the draft Code and leave your comments. Comments must be submitted by April 24, 2026.

Guidance for Providing Feedback

The Task Force will find feedback the most helpful if it provides specific suggestions regarding how a standard can be strengthened or improved provided it is constructive, specific and grounded in professional practice. Please be respectful of differing perspectives and remember this is not a forum for seeking ethical guidance or discussing specific situations or case studies. Thank you for contributing to this important work. By participating, you are ensuring that we hear from many professionals who are contributing to the development of professional standards that help uphold the integrity of the counseling profession while shaping a code that is reflective of both our professional values and the realities of practice.
